Toverland: Magic Wand (the Netherlands)

Lagotronics is known worldwide for its capability to research and develop new, innovative products and concepts. After pioneering the field of professional LED lighting and the control of multicoloured LED fixtures, Lagotronics has now developed a new technology for the leisure and amusement industry: LagoTRIG2®. The most recent addition to this productline, the LagoTRIG2® Magic Wand, has been used in a new ride in Toverland ("Magic Country"), Sevenum (the Netherlands) in April 2008. The ride "The Magic House of Toverland" makes extensive use of the innovative LagoTRIG2® technology.

Lagotronics installed a large scale setup in which visitors can trigger all kinds of responses within the house by pointing a LagoTRIG® Magic Wand towards a target and pressing a button. The LagoTRIG2® system enables you to tie pre-programmed responses to each target by means of a central computer. The responses give the visitors the idea that their LagoTRIG2® Magic Wand actually has magical powers. Magical powers that, for example, make parts of the scenery move, glow, produce sound, change colour and more. It creates the illusion that the LagoTRIG2® Magic Wand can make a pot of water boil and a frog to crawl out of a bucket. How? The LagoTRIG2® system.

This ride is one of the many LagoTRIG® installations that Lagotronics installed in a rather short timespan. Installations at Isla Magica in Seville, Spain and Europapark in Rust (near Freiburg) in Germany preceeded the Toverland attraction. Toverland is the first to use the LagoTRIG2® Magic Wand trigger device.

Toverland and the LagoTRIG® Magic Wand are perfect partners. According to the CEO of Toverland: "Being able to perform magic spells yourself is the ultimate dream for Toverland. After all, there's a witch or sorcerer in every child - and many adults."

Toverland describes the attraction as follows: Visitors to the new ?Toverhuis? can conjure th most magical effects themeselves with a magic wand in their hand.
 
The magic fun starts even before entering the ?Toverhuis?. The curtains open and close, magically a cat appears or a spider starts crawling down suddenly. Once in the house, visitors are lead into the wardrobe the bedroom, kitchen, lounge and garden.

Point the wand at the bed and let the clock rotate around or let the bed move. Dozens of pots, mobiles and or crystals change color. A chattering magic box may show its secrets. Be surprised by the owl in the cage or read the delicious recipes in the large magic book.

Of course, humor is not forgotten. Outside in the garden, where some fresh washed clothing is hanging to dry, and the plants can grow rapidly if by magic, humorours effects can be found. High above the roof is an airstrip built for witches. When the Wand is used properly, a witch appears... and farts.
