LEF Future Center (the Netherlands)
In cooperation with Arup, Lichtpunt, Imtech and Visual DMX, Lagotronics delivered a both large scale and innovative LED installation in the LEF Future Centre of Rijkswaterstaat (Ministry of Traffic) in The Netherlands.
The newly build Rijkswaterstaat office is situated along the A12 and houses the LEF future center. The LEF future center is designed to enabled both visitors and employees of Rijkswaterstaat to stay within a fully controllable surrounding. Rijkswaterstaat hopes this will give the inspiration for new, innovating, and extremely creative insights on improving current problems, like traffics-jams.
Lagotronics delivered around 1500 DecaLED® Dot DMX's, which were mounted into the floor tiles by Imtech Utiliteit West. The LED lighting in the floor of the LEF future center are part of a spectacular presentation consisting of audio, video and LED lighting. This combination of materials creates unlimited possibilities to define very specific moods and environments in the LEF future center.
Combined with the impressive audiovisual presentation, the DecaLED® Dot DMX's contribute to the general ambiance. But they are also used to indicate several moving areas within the floor (parts of the floor can lower / rise). This way, the DecaLED® Dot DMX's are not solely used to enhance the environment, but also for general safety! The dots can light up in figures and every desireable colour. Every single one of the 1500 DecaLED® Dot DMX's can be controlled individually using a DMX signal; one of the unique features of this user-friendly product. Per 100 DecaLED® Dot DMX's one LagoLED® USB-i 505 controller is used.
The control of the DecaLED® Dot DMX's and all audiovisual gear is done by Visual DMX, a prominent company in matrix-wise control of LEDs. Visual DMX developed several special modules for this project, that enables them to also use MIDI ore other signals next to DMX.
