Low location emergency lighting

When a fire breaks out, it takes less than thirty seconds before traditional ceiling light sources are obscured and escape route signs become illegible. Warm smoke rises and quickly creates a hot layer from the ceiling down. Reflexes cause humans to get as close to the ground as possible, where the air is cooler and the smoke is both less dense and less toxic.

People inside a burning building, which may be an unfamiliar environment for them, lose their sense of direction and struggle with reduced eye sight, leading to panic and desorientation - mindstates that may have fatal consequences. Some fire victims have perished mere meters away from an exit that would have lead them to safety. Independent research has shown that low location emergency lighting remains visible the longest, past the point where other systems become obscured by smoke and are therefore rendered ineffective.

Legislation on health and safety states that all buildings in the commercial sector must be equipped with an emergency lighting installation that follows all relevant guidelines. Low location emergency lighting from ReGuard surpasses these guidelines with its Guide-LITE escape route signposting and Guide-LITE emergency exit lighting. These products guarantee safety and protection for users of the building as well as for the commercial reputation of its owners. Our systems can be of assistance in situations with and without smoke, and may even save lives in emergency situations, particularly those that do involve smoke.

ReGuard's Guide-LITE system also has a product range suited for use at sea - on cruise ships, yachts, ferries and drilling platforms, for example.

The Guide-LITE system can be designed and installed with ease, but we are happy to help you during the design and/or the technical installation phase. Guide-LITE products have proven their reliability, do not require heavy maintenance and are competitively priced.
