Haus der Geschichte (Germany)

The Haus der Geschichte (house of history) in Stuttgart, Germany, which was officially opened on 13 September 2002 in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, contains one of Lagotronics' most monumental achievements in customized LED technology. More than 4000 white 1W Luxeon? LEDs from Lumileds were incorporated into a historical, interactive map of Baden-Württemberg. Every LED is operated by special hardware and software that receives input from more than 4000 sensors spread over the entire floor.

When a person walks on the map, the computer will recognize the exact position of that person and illuminate the specific area or kingdom related to that position. A video projector and sound system then gives the visitor more information about the illuminated area or kingdom. This project is shining proof of the countless possibilities that LED lighting offers in combination with professional control.
