Beauty and the Beast (The Netherlands, Germany)
Lagotronics integrated decorative lighting and special effects in the set for the musical "The Beauty and the Beast". Mike Baldassari, the well-known and experienced American lighting designer, spent much of his efforts on the wireless operation of set pieces during the show. Lagotronics carried out the required work for both the Dutch and the German versions.
The integrated lighting and special effects had to function wirelessly during the show, impacting power supply and DMX control. The only option was to power all effects with batteries and to control them wirelessly. LEDs are known for their low energy consumption and are therefore perfectly suited for colourful light shows.
Due to strict lighting requirements, Lagotronics chose to modify some of its standard products. All effects were being controlled via 'Wireless DMX', which enables wireless communication between the direction's lighting console and the LED controllers and dimmers. The enormous complexity of the entire set and the difficult technical issues were a real challenge for Lagotronics's field crew, but thanks to their experience and technical know-how, they were able to live up to expectations and deliver a true masterpiece.
The lighting designer, Mike Baldassari, was thrilled with the end result and the speed with which Lagotronics was able to take many separate components and turn them into one well-oiled machine.
Lagotronics supplied and installed:
- 72 pieces LagoLED® PISA 42 DMX
- 3300 DecaLED® RGB Modules
- 50 pieces DecaLED® LED Bar 1250

Lagotronics's fieldcrew worked some 4000 hours on both the Dutch and the German sets.
