Traffice guidance with LEDs

In cooperation with Essent Lighting BV, Lagotronics installed LED-lighting from our ReGuard-range at the N337 in Olst (the Netherlands), serving as traffic guidance system.
To enhance the visibility of all road elements at night and to increase safety in general, we decided to incorporate Levelites from Swareflex and Power Trail Lites from International Lightacts. The LED-modules are installed by Essent Lighting BV and serve as a lighting facility for a roundabout and the roads leading towards it. The Levelites are flush-mounted into the carriageway. The Power Trail Lites are placed in the curbstones of the roundabout, pointing towards approaching vehicles.
Essent Lighting BV chose for these LED-products because of their quality, robustness, simplicity and good references. Guidance systems of this kind offer reference points to traffic participants, which results in a safer situation on the road. Next to that, they are used in dangerous traffic situations, particularly regarding pedestrians, to increase safety. Research shows that the number of accidents and the severity of injuries on roads, equipped with active traffice guidance systems, significantly drops (source: GWW).
