LED lighting for Hofstede Optiek

Hofstede Optiek, located in the heart of The Hague (the Netherlands), is an exclusive optician and eye care specialist, also providing optometry and contact lenses. Recently the interior was completely transformed based on a design of Alexander Nowotny of Nowotny Architects. The execution was done by Van der Plas meubel & projekt bv, from Den Bosch (NL).
The organic shapes in the interior, with its many coves and diffuse curved surfaces required a creative approach to lighting. Therefore the assistance of Lagotronics BV was invoked. In consultation with the store owner and interior builder, most of the interior lighting is done with LED products from the DecaLED and International LightACTS series.
The back wall of the large displays is made in opal acrylic. To light up these entire wall, 15 pieces of DecaLED Color Bar 18 SC (warm white, version with lenses) were placed behind it. The units are driven by the DecaLED High Power DMX Controller TV. The white shelvings have an indirect color accent in the form of DecaLED Flex HD RGB. Using the DecaLED Controller 2, this can be configured in any desired color. The functional lights in the windows are formed by Dome LED Downlights by International LightACTS. All plinths are fitted with DecaLED Flex SC warm white for general orientation and a spatial effect.
For illuminating the curved walls, which are ongoing in the ceiling, as well as the many coves, Lagotronics used a customized product for this project: modular strips of 30cm with 5x1W warm white LEDs. The 250 strips are connected via a wired connection or a direct contact stitch. Several DecaLED Power Supply Units (24 VDC) deal with the supply of the LED strips.
The shop window at the front of the building is illuminated with LED Dome Spots 6x3W white, hanging from Eutrac 3-phase rail from International LightACTS.
