Large-scale audiovisual installation in Raodhoes

Behind the the former city hall in Blerick, the Netherlands, a new cultural centre was built. Today, the historical facade forms the entrance to a multifunctional building: the Raodhoes. The intimate main hall (providing 330 seats in its theatre-setup) is the heart of a facility which has been equiped with all modern technology to host plays, live music, movies, dances and presentations. The seatings platform can be folded down and rolled away, which creates a large hall. The hall can be extended to a space for about 2000 visitors by means of movable walls. Besides the theatre hall, the building has six smaller rooms which are suited for i.e. meetings and trainings.
As experienced audiovisual specialist, Lagotronics was contacted in an early stage to provide advice and install the audiovisual elements in this project.
Audio
Almost every room in the Raodhoes has been provided with Bose loudspeakers (DS100F, DS100Se and Fs16F), which are driven by InterM and Cloud amplifiers. The setup is managed by a Bose ControlSpace CC-64, accompanied by an AMS-8 wallpanel in every room. This allows the audio to be the same in the entire building, or individually selected in each room between central music, tuner, local microphone input and local line-in.
In the theatre and the adjacent hall (which can be combined by means of a movable wall) a high quality PA was installed, suited for live music and theater plays. For the theatre hall, the setup consists of 4 Bose LT-9702-III's and 2 LT-MB24's. In the adjacent hall 6 Bose LT-9403's were mounted, which is a first for Bose since they never used these products for theatre purposes. The choice for these products enables the Raodhoes to use the main hall both with and without the seatings platform while using the same PA. There is no need for a technical staff, additional equipment or work, while maintaining the quality of sound. The results can be called impressive.
The audio installation is completed with EV ZX floormonitors and sidefills, a 32-channel Midas Venice mixer, effects rack with DBX compressor, limiter and EQ's, and Sennheiser microphones (series 550 en e900).
Lighting
The control of the (stage)lighting in the theatre hall is done using a typical theatre mixing table: the Compulite Spark. It is combined with 12-channel PHS dimmers, Show-Tec Distros and a handheld ELC Focus. The theatre lighting consists of moving heads (spots and washes), horizon clusters, multi profile spots and 1000 watt par 64's from Show-Tec.
