Artwork Oranjelaan Roermond, the Netherlands

31-7-2009

From 1975 to 1993 an artwork by Joep Nicolas van Ronkenstein graced the station square in Roermond, the Netherlands. Due to the refurbishment of the station square, the artwork had to be removed and was stored for years in the town yard. In mid 2008, the artwork was restored and was given a new distinctive place in Roermond: at the roundabout Oranjelaan - Bredeweg.

Recently, LightingView placed colourful LED lighting to provide the artwork with a look it deserves in the evening hours. Two pieces DecaLED® Color Wash 36 were used for this purpose. This waterproof (IP65) luminaires prove to be ideal for illuminating objects in public spaces. The combination of energy-efficient LED lighting and life expectancy and robustness of the DecaLED® Color Wash 36 make this a project with great attention to sustainability. Thanks to the enormous power of the 36 Luxeon 1W LEDs, only two fixtures are sufficient to achieve the desired result.
