History

Lagotronics was founded in 1979 in Venlo, The Netherlands. The company started out as a local drive-in disco. Within a few years, its activities expanded to installing lighting and audio installations in bars, dancing schools and discos. With the number of projects growing rapidly, employees were hired for the first time. Slowly but surely, Lagotronics evolved to become a healthy company with a good reputation thanks to its solid solutions and client-pleasing service.

In 1985, Lagotronics again expanded its activities as the first projects for some of the larger Dutch television producers were accepted. The company started investing in the development of high-tech solutions that complied with the demands of then-contemporary television shows. Subsequently, the design and application of products such as interactive game control, voting systems and showcontrol became an area of expertise for the company. The unique products for the entertainment industry contributed to a solid reputation and a leading position in this market sector.

In collaboration with Endemol Entertainment, Lagotronics started expanding to other countries such as Portugal, where a subsidiary was opened in 1995. Initially conceived to support the local Endemol Entertainment team, the branch later started taking on large-scale television productions and related projects. Other countries where Lagotronics became an active player were Germany, Belgium, the UK, Italy and Spain, among others.

In addition to the rapid growth in the television and theatre sectors, Lagotronics was also entering other market segments. Thanks to its client focus and market position, a growing number of companies were discovering Lagotronics's potential, resulting in a wave of various projects combining audio, video and lighting, sometimes integrated with mechanic motion and special effects control. Today, Lagotronics is an important supplier of various amusement parks and museums, both domestic and abroad.

In the late 1990s, Lagotronics entered the LED lighting market. With its LagoLED® product line, Lagotronics introduced a range of solid-state light sources, better known as LEDs. The use of COB technology for solid-state light sources was an innovation that lead to products with wide ranges of use. Some years later, the DecaLED® range was introduced, combining Lagotronics's know-how with the production capacity of its Asian partners and resulting in professional LED lighting at an affordable price.

Today, both LagoLED® and DecaLED® are associated with innovation and high quality around the globe. Their success have made Lagotronics a worldwide industry leader in the field of LED lighting technology. Due to the increasing demand for Lagotronics's products and services, the company has grown to more than 50 employees plus a number of freelancers.
