Escape route & emergency exit lighting

Within the ReGuard product line, a number of systems are available for highlighting escape routes and emergency exits.

Guide-LITE EmEx

The Guide-LITE EmEx system consists of green LEDs with an output of 900 mcd and a power of 40 mA. The LED system can highlight an entire escape route in combination with evacuation and/or guiding systems.

Under normal circumstances, all emergency exits in a tunnel are sealed and the Guide-LITE EmEx system is switched off. The emergency exits can only be used in case of emergencies, fire or toxic fumes. In all other situations, people will have to escape via the tunnel tube they are in. When the operator presses the emergency button, all emergency exits become unsealed, meaning that the doors will remain closed but can be opened and used. The Guide-LITE EmEx system is switched on automatically, illuminating the edges of the exits so that they can be spotted easily.

Within The Netherlands, the Guide-LITE EmEx system is used in the Westerschelde tunnel, the Sijtwendetunnel and the IJtramtunnel.

Swaroexit

Another effective lighting system is SwaroExit, which continuously illuminates exits with an adjustable brightness. Escape routes can be illuminated with LED modules in the shape of an arrow pointing toward the exit.

In emergency situations, the modules can be set to flash ultra bright LEDs which are visible from long distances, even in case of heavy smoke production. SwaroExit is a fireproof system with an extremely low energy consumption.
