DecaLED Color Spot used for art project

After the Lightbox Sequencer II, the latest interactive installation of freelance designer Jonas Vorwerk is an electronic wind organ. While sitting in the sun at Kijkduin boulevard, Vorwerk realised that his newest creation should be about the elements. The wind determines your hearing, your movement and even your eyesight. This experience motivated him to begin sketching the wind organ. The organ consists of two octaves created from 16 free moving pieces that trigger sound. As always in the work of Jonas Vorwerk, the wind organ requires action from the spectator. Together with the wind, this creative work can be played as an instrument.
Vorwerk applied 8 pieces DecaLED® Color Spot 3 RGB in this installation, which illuminate the aluminium bars from the base of the construction. This IP67 certified LED luminaire is ideal for this exterior application. The 3 x 1W High Power Luxeon LEDs project colours which are related to the movement of the illuminated bars. They reflect and accentuate the energy that the wind (or person) transfers to the bars.
Controlling is done using two DecaLED® High Power DMX Controller TV units. Up to 6 DecaLED® Color Spot 3 RGB can be controlled using one controller. Single-coloured versions of the DecaLED® Color Spot 3 are also available in the colours blue, white, warm white and amber.
