Animatronics: bring characters to life

An animatronic is a doll with technology on board that makes it move. Without decoration, animatronics look like robots, but usually, they are decorated to look like realistic characters. An animatronic usually has a pre-programmed set of movements. These movements can be made using hydraulics, but also by using electric motors. Animatronics are used in, for example, amusement parks and movies. In amusement parks, they are mainly used on dark rides to allow for moving characters.
